Steps of Faith

This page is just a bit about my faith. It's my personal life-long goal to use my life to honor the Lord, including my running. At times, I am far from a good example...and at those times I am glad to have fellow friends and brothers and sisters to gently rein me in.

I became a believer in the saving grace of Jesus Christ at an early age. I didn't receive a baptism until August 8, 2010. It's complicated. A lot happened in between. :)

Running won't be my idol. Here's a post about it. My aim is to find contentment in honoring the Lord in all aspects of life, running and non-running.

A letter of encouragement from a friend means the world to me. I read it before races.

Just a few scriptures that I hold onto:

I Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Luke 12:34
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

John 15:5
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

2 Corinthians 5: 17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
