First RUN in 6 weeks!

 Dressing up is fun!

I took my first run in 6 weeks at a local park today.

The weather couldn't have been more perfect. :) I'm hoping that rest is what my foot needed, and not PT.

Ask me how it went tomorrow...

Altra Intuition 2.0
(Mini review: Very soft shoes)

Shot of the park where I run loops when I can't squeeze in a run before the kids wake up.

Wednesday I was a baking fool!

These goodies will go to a community costume carnival tonight!

            Brownies....
and I also baked oatmeal peanut-butter chocolate chip cookies.

I tried not to eat too many. :)

And now we are off to play games for candy!

What have you been keeping busy with? Do you ever run in costume?

  1. So, how did it go? Wondered what you'd been up to. Hope the soft cushioned shoes are kind to your feet. I'm loving the cushy Hoka Cliftons (now that I have shoe goo for them!) - my feet are very happy!
Too shy to run in costume! I've been busy with trying to get in some cycling - enjoying it and think it's helping my running.

    1. Thanks Ewen! I think I prefer a firmer shoe, but these matched my costume best ;)
I'll be linking back up with strava soon- just waiting for my updated Garmin to get here.
Now I'm curious about the shoe goo!

    2. I'll let you know how it goes. Hokas don't have a long lasting outsole - they're like shoes were in the early '80s - everyone used shoe goo back then. Most shoes now have hard carbon rubber outsoles that outlast the midsole.

    3. I've used it on kids boots and on a jacket. Ive never seen a review from you, but I'd like to know your thoughts after a hundred miles on them.

The outfit is looking great, and seems cleverly devised to be not just a costume, but a fast one :) Hope that you all had some fun and that the foot is starting to behave. The brownies seem to have crammed in many of my favourite things...

    1. Happy to hear from you , Andy!
Brownies are too easy to make ~makes it hard to be good!

  3. You are adorable! I'm not recovered enough to run it, but today is the Jazz Half, a local race that many runners dress up for. I've done it as a cowgirl, pirate, and bee.
    Hope the foot feels great!

I've seen you race pretty fast in those costumes.

  4. You look so stinking cute! That costume reminded me when I was a "Pixie" in a dance recital when I was about 5. Exact same color.

Hope your foot is on the mend and you're back to running happy and healthy!

    1. Ha! I think it might have been a grown up Tinkerbell dress, but works for a forest fairy :)
Hope you're having a great fall, Jill! I bet it's beautiful there.

  5. Hi beautiful you. So glad you were able to run. Ah, not running for 6 weeks sounds rough. I like your mini review of the shoes. Want to hear more. Now that trail running is my main thing, I will eventually need new trail shoes. Not tied to Brooks so open to hearing more about Altra!

    1. I have a better review coming, Amanda. These are road shoes, but since the path was easy they worked!
