Rediscovering my "Inner Superhero" and a few shouts out!

First: Special shouts out to two racers this weekend:
Jess @ Blonde Ponytail http://jallen.blogspot.com/ (running Windermere Marathon),
and Quinton @ Q on the Move http://qonthemove.blogspot.com/(Toronto Marathon)! Best wishes to both for BIG PRs!!

Also best wishes to XL MIC and any other bay-to-breakers racers!

And now....

Where have my super powers gone? COME BACK! I MISS YOU!

I miss speed work. Not just a little...

I have run three speed workouts since my February injury: two shorter tempo runs and one set of 2x1600- just before my "big race". Now I am in recovery mode from Boston and don't have that "green light" feeling yet to do what I love- what gives me confidence and pizazz in running! (Not to mention major endorphins!!!)

Today, I decided to have a little fun and pretend to be on my A-game. No, I didn't crank out any sprints or even a very quick easy run, but I got to wear a super-runner outfit and play with my camera timer!

It won't be long....I can FEEL it.

And, I know that even when I am physically, emotionally, or spiritually weak, HE makes me STRONG.

2 Corinthians 12: 10
That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Have a great weekend! Run STRONG!

I ran fast, a little bit on purpose (a little bit because I am improving??), two nights ago. What a rush! I can see why you miss it.

  20. With a cape like that you probably don’t need to do any speed work. Great photos! It is really beautiful where you live and run. Take care, you’ll be back to full speed soon.
