Rode Wes (the trainer bike)
AM 17.3 miles/ intervals of higher resistance/ 46 minutes
PM 20.84 miles / 60 minutes
I really DON'T know what the heck I am doing on the bike (whether it's good or not...but I am a newbie and really don't care- I just need to keep up fitness). I got a great email from Julie at Adventure is Out There. She outlined her workouts for me. And I am now counting RPMs and trying to imagine that on the ground. It would be super fast. I CANNOT do it on land. hahaha.
Any and all trainer bike suggestions welcome. Please keep in mind that I have a recumbent bike that was free from a friend. I also have a real bike (restored older road bike) in the garage, but am not ready to go ride 20 miles in log truck traffic yet (semi deaf at the moment- from a cold).
Went on a 2 mile walk yesterday. My foot did not hurt at all. I was pushing the stroller and the kids were with me so it wasn't all fast walking. Just a lot of stop and go. Still- it is progress! Praise God.
And...this is what I'd really like to be doing.
(My kids last spring on an unusually sunny day at the coast. We were caught off guard by the warm temps and they had to celebrate. =D )***
Husband Encouragement Challenge - Day 19
From emails I signed up to receive:
"You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!" (Psalm 16:11a; 144:15b)
"A merry heart does good, like medicine." (Proverbs 17:22a)
It's hard to criticize others when we are enjoying their company. Instead of speaking negatively to your husband today, enjoy him! Encourage him! As you experience fullness of joy with God, share some of that joy with your husband.
Does your husband have a playful side? A great sense of humor? Is there a "little boy" that wants to escape from time to time, reflecting the joy in his heart?
This is a wonderful part of who he is, and a great strength. Let him know that you appreciate his joyfulness and his playful spirit. Find opportunities to join him in positive play times.
If your husband can sometimes be overly serious, coax him out occasionally for some play times. It will help him relieve stress and relax.
And here is where I will turn off the computer. Because, you see, my husband just asked..."So how's that going?" referring to the challenge =D
