30 Day Husband Encouragement Challenge, Day 8

Day 8 (from a series of emails I signed up for)

How are you doing with the "30-Day Husband Encouragement Challenge"? In case you've forgotten, here's the challenge:

* You can't say anything negative about your husband . . . to your husband, or to anyone else.
* Say something that you admire or appreciate about your husband . . . to your husband and to someone else.

Photo proofs from our wedding day, with photographer's marks on them :) . We used the top two.

"But who can find a faithful man?" (Proverbs 20:6b)

Faithfulness is a wonderful but rare quality today, especially in regard to marriage. Do you understand how important this quality is? Your challenge is to continue to root out all negative speaking, and plant seeds of encouragement instead. You may be amazed at what will grow.

Contemporary culture often entices men to be unfaithful to their wedding vows and spiritual commitments. Appreciate your husband's faithfulness--how he is loyal to you. Let him know that you are glad he has "stick-to-it-iveness" in your marriage. Appreciate his faithfulness to God.
If you have an unfaithful husband, this is a difficult area for you. Pray, speak the truth in love, remain faithful yourself, and discover ways to encourage faithfulness in your mate. The Bible says that husbands may "be won by the conduct of their wives" (1 Peter 3:1b). You may also want to seek counsel from a mature, godly individual or couple.

Running stuff:
Not much to report here.
I am in the process of revising my goal for Boston. My plan has been abandoned, but I am still keeping up with the trainer bike and lifting. I also have a regimen of applied heat and massage to the injured part of my foot 3 X a day. Yesterday I got out of the house and walked on it a bit.

Are you brave???
Still looking for your funny / bad race photos! Please let me know if you post any and I'll post a link here to them. =D

two people i know have lost their wives lately to divorce. they both decided after 14 years in one situation and 10 in the other - they wanted to change everything in their lives. both had kiddos as well, young ones. very sad.

  2. Dont throw in the towel yet on Boston. Prayers work - as you know. Good stuff being sent your way.

Generation X - the two people you mentioned - are but a couple of the many that can be affected. Very sad, I am sure.

  3. Ah, abandoned training plans...we should file ours together!

I don't have much advice for your training bike. I just do what the spin class teacher says. Increase resistance, decrease...ooohhh look a big hill...increase it again. Haha!

Love your wedding pics. You are so beautiful and um, no wonder you aren't having a problem with your 30 day challenge!

  4. Love the wedding pics!! So beautiful. I was too scared to do a "real" wedding - too many eyes on me at one time type of thing. We had our ceremony outdoors and Steve wore tan slacks and top and I wore a blue sundress. I loved our wedding but I do regret not having any professional pictures. However, that has carried over to our children, too. No professional pics of them either. I'm lazy...and I'm ok with that :D

  5. You will do fine in Boston. Just remember that you BQ'd on HOW many tries?!?! You are an awesome runner. Heal your foot, and you will be fine. I eloped so I don't really have any wedding pictures. PEACE.

  7. Love the wedding pics! You look gorgeous:) My wedding pics are buried with my race pics-ha! I'm not sure how many years you've been married but apparently timeless was "in" when you took those photos. I was unfortunately stuck in the big hair, not so timeless era....

I would say faithfulness is an EXTREMELY important quality.....one to be appreciated for sure. Nice reminder

Revising your goal....not going to comment a lot here. Shot you some mail. Great job keeping up with the weights and the bike.

OK-I need to dig through the race photo archive here!
