The best gifts this year won't cost you a dime.

It would be far too easy for me to keep my blog entirely running related; but, today I am compelled to step out of my "comfort zone" and write about more important things.

Often this time of year I face some inner struggles: I want to spend as much as I can afford on gifts for family. I want to donate to all the charities. There is so much need, so many worthy causes. There is a budget though, and we are limited to how much we can give.

Decisions must be made. Some receive from us, others don't. I always feel a bit guilty about this. And I always feel like I get SO MUCH MORE than I either gave or deserve.

But the best gifts we can give are always free. This video is about a gift you can give that won't cost you a dime and will mean the world to someone else:

And a song...

  1. So true!! Great video-really puts things in perspective.

I love the David Crowder Band. Barlow Girl came and performed at our County fair a couple of years ago. Love them too! I ALWAYS warmup to their version of "Enough".

Yes-still messing with the training plan. I'm combining a HM and a 15K program and modifying it for this 10 mile race, I think....Bits and pieces of knowledge taken from all different people combined into a plan created by MOI!! I have to enter it all into a spreadsheet here so I can print it. I will probably be in a panic on Sunday night to get it done! I'm not always the best at following a plan...I make a lot of changes all the time and just run the way I feel that day. Need to work on that perhaps:) I'll do a 12 week marathon plan after that.

Good luck deciding on yours. Pfitz?? I was planning to use the Veteran's Boston training plan off of their website before I got hurt. Had a mileage range for each workout which I liked. It's a 16 week plan. Something to look at anyway! I'm quite certain you could make your own plan based on what you know and still absolutely KILL that race! I'm not sharing my secret goal for you but I'm very excited to see you acheive it!!!!

  2. AWESOME VIDEO!! It really is hard to not spend your whole bank account during this time of year. Thanks for helping me put things in perspective!
P.S. I love your comments, they always make me laugh!! "One of the stress relievers you should be married for." HA

  3. I love the david crowder band. So amazing!

  4. wow. thanks for that. so humbling when sometimes I may shy away from saying something about my faith to someone for fear of a dirty look or word when these men are being beaten and killed. Shame on me. Love Francis Chan's book 'crazy love'. Thanks again!

Please comment! I love hearing from you!!! ♥
